joooooommmlaaaaa

Throughout the holidays I discovered a dreamweaver extention that allows you to convert any normal html site into a joomla based site. You can check out what I have done here www.lawebdesign.com.au/latest. Although this is a good item it is still limited, Im sure I will use this again but for now I will just be modifying a joomla template to my specifications.

Im Back...

After a week off Im back. The first stage has been handed in with the project scope etc.... now to the site!

I am still tossing up between joomla and wordpress better make my mind up.... I have a template that I already like and it should only need some minor modifications to make a matching e-store (famous last words). So now Im working on the design (lo-fi) and logo then it will be off to making the site...

Come on GANNT chart

So far Im up to completing the WBS and GANNT chart for tyhe project plan and then Im finished the first assesment component.

I have not had a chance to try the WPOSC (wordpress oscommerce) template yet but as I already know, I can use joomla and virtumart seemlessly or just do the joomla and oscommerce route and modify the CSS files to look the same.

Wordpress and OScommerce

After spending 3 days trying to get my head around joomla and oscommerce the other weekend I did some research about intergrating oscommerce into a wordpress cms. Yesterday I found a site that offered this intergration package so I have started trying it out.
With this package I have found that it uses a modified version of oscommerce that will intergrate with your wordpress layout, not as easy as it sounds... The install was not to hard, just the same as an oscommerce install, but getting the package to use the wordpress theme is a nightmare! It requires you to completely modify the theme for the package, not very seamless...
I will give it a go but if it takes too long I will just stick with modifying the standard oscommerce layout or using joomla and virtumart.
More research.....

Decissions decissions

The subject i have chosen to do the project on is my own personal site, I already have my own domain and hosting, so this will save me a bit of time. I have just briefly started on the outlines of the project and I'm getting the documents together to complete the project definition documents.
